If my calls were not monitored and my job not dependent on those scores that is the response I would have loved to have given one of my customers today.

He seriously told me that I should "go prostitute yourself on the street corner so your company can afford to provide me with High Speed Internet".

I was actually quite flattered he thought I could bring in so much money. Though I am sure he was trying to find a polite way to call me a w****.

It sometime really baffles me how people can choose to live in a rural environment and then expect that they are entitled to the luxuries of urban society.  If you want HSI then move closer to town. It is not my fault you chose to live on 20 acres and have a mule.

Woe to anyone who gets her Irish up!

You are priceless, Irish! And a damned good professional, too, if you could stop yourself from responding in a manner he so richly deserved. You go, Girl!!!

OH GAWD dont tell me you work for big FLOO. LOL

At this point I'd tell him.....go to the cable company. How about going wireless data...

Some people are incredibly ignorant about basic communication technology.

Example...why DSL exisits at all. It is somewhat a modern miracle of Digital processing technology that you can get 3 meg out of a line designed to support 64Khz analog voice. Or 56K max on dialup....

You can live in urban areas and still get shit as a DSL rate! (I know)

Given the present government administration don't count on any company investing in the network until the regulatory direction is clear. Right now it's not clear.

I'm sorry, but you jusst slayed me with the mule...!!! *giggles* *snorts* Bwahahahahhaaaaa!

And the best of it is, he wouldn't even get that it was in insult.

*hugs*

Sorry he was so rude- but as I am in the same situation, living in a rural area with no access to high speed it sucks. It's not as if Internet is a luxury- all govt stuff is on the net. My brother's college requires he go on the net to communicate with teachers, submit assignments, check schedules etc. Applying for jobs too- all most all job boards are on the net.
If I didn't live here- people who need nurses would be short one nurse, that's why it's hard to attract professionals to serve people like farmers and miners who have to live where they work.
