I do understand where you are coming from as I deal with people who live in the rural sector all day, everyday. I work for a telephone company that specializes in rural communities. I know it is frustrating to not have access to High Speed, but it is something that we are working on everyday to expand... it takes time and money. That guy, unfortunately, is not the exception to the rule lately. Many people get snarky and rude. I try to let it just run off my back, but sometimes... For those in the rural environment it almost seems to become a personal affront.
Have you checked with your local phone company? If DSL is not available then satellite should be.
