How many of you remember despairing of not being able to do things and being told the reason was you were too young? This was my mother's favorite response followed closely by don't rush it the years will go by fast enough when you are older. Of course, as a child, I never believed her. It always felt like I would be too young forever.
Well, don't tell her but, my mother was right. Where has the time gone? The month of February is quickly drawing to an end and I could swear I was just wrapping Christmas presents yesterday! It is funny but, I feel no older now than when I graduated from college and trust me that was more than a decade ago. When I was in college I used to chuckle when one of my professors used to refer to his own public school teaching career in "70 never mind" well yesterday I actually found it appropriate to refer to "in 80 never mind". Yikes! Am I really that old?
I must be as I have decided to spend my 30 (we won't say) birthday in the Northwest with my family. I am planning ahead for this because I refuse to pay last minute airfare. No self respecting younger sister and baby of the family would spend any birthday that begins with the number 4 with their older brothers when they have been the perfect example of a "evil little sister". The opportunity for revenge would be just too great.
I hope you all have a fab weekend.
