Can someone please slow down the wheel of life please?
Not only do I have the soap opera of my family (niece and brother at each other's throats)... have I mentioned how glad I am to live 1500 miles away but, life here in the midwest is heating up.
1. My neighbor and owner of my K-9 boy friend Lucky is having a hell of a time. She has spent three of the last 4 weeks at her daughter's house because her grandbaby is terribly ill. Little one was born with a hole in her heart and has to have open heart surgery. Surgery was scheduled for Friday and now we are not sure if it will happen. The baby keeps breaking out in hives. Funny thing is that it only happens around her mama but, others have seen them. They have checked all the likely culprits and nothing. Now they have taken her off the heart medication to place her on a higher powered antihistamine. If they cannot get rid of the hives for good by Friday they cannot do surgery. This is not a good thing as when the visiting nurse came out today it was found that her oxygen levels have dropped and her lungs sound "wet". Now they are admitting her to the hospital surgery or not and starting her on a course of diruretics. The poor thing is only 3 months old and has had a hell of a time.
2. Mama to my god daughter got off work a half hour early today (we work together) and not 11 minutes later she is calling my cell phone. As I am on a call I did not answer. Then our supervisor comes by 10 minutes later, I am still on the call, and tells me Jules' car has been hit and is not drivable. Holy shite! I get off work and the tow truck is still there. Poor Jules did not even get out of the parking lot. Someone backed right into her and it looks like the car will probably be totaled. So, we load the car seats into my car and take of for Mauston (70 miles away) to pick up the girls at daycare and take them all home. Then on the way home I missed the merge and ended up taking a 20 mile scenic detour.
3. Good new another dear friend just found out she is expecting! The seventh one I have jinxed in 2 years. Went shopping with her on Saturday she commented she was not feeling well. I asked, "are you pregnant" classic response "no". Well, by Monday she decided she should take a test. Hee hee I is right again! They are thrilled as they have been trying for over a year! So there will be a new babe on the horizon around April 5, 2009! My suggestion if you do not want to be pregnant do not tell me you are not feeling well I have predicted pregnancies of 7 co-workers in the last 2 years.
4. My Eagle is still stuck with the PB. I really think she is related to Cordelia in Little Beloved's story Denial.
And how was your day?
