Today is the first day we here in my corner of the mid-west have experienced a snowfall that is sticking to the ground. I know it sounds crazy, but I love the first snow fall. I have my window open and few the beauty of the earth renewing itself.
Huge sighs of relieft are my sounds of peace. I got my Exchange Fic done and submitted 2 days before the end of my extension, I am at home in my tranquil little abode and Thanksgiving went better than ANYONE expected. Even my Eagle was amazed he had prepared himself to be miserable and just the opposit happened. I will have to admit, for me as well, it was a wonderful day though I spent about 90 percent of it in the kitchen, or perhaps because I did. I love to cook and have my efforts appreciated and boy were they. (side note can I just say how much I hate people who can eat to their hearts content and not gain weight!) I prepared the traditional fare of Turkey, stuffing, potatoes, herb roasted sweet potatoes, southern style green beans, gravy, fresh cranberry sauce, cranberry nut pie, pumpkin pie and homemade rolls. This does not count the munchies before hand and the fresh cinnamon rolls for breakfast. All was greatly enjoyed and appreciated.
My Eagle is a little under the weather today. I left him feeling achy and tired. I think this is probably because this weekend was the first time in more than a year that I have seen him really naturally relax. He has been running on adrenaline, stress, caffeine and alcohol for so long that I think his body has caught up with him. So, I tucked him up in his recliner with the fire going and orders to take it easy, eat leftovers, watch football and rest. I hope he is feeling better later, but he insisted with the snow I must head for home.
I hope everyone else enjoyed their weekend as much as I did.
Hugs to all
