Here are the seven Lady Karelia chose for me:
1. Cooking, I love taking raw ingredients and making something wonderful out of them. I am allergic to many preservatives and so I have learned to cook from natural foods. It is amazing how much flavor people who rely on boxed or packaged foods miss out on.
2. Baking, Again for the same reason as above, but more so. I love to create the unusual and different. Baking for me is relaxation. I have learned though to give it away. Eating too much of a good thing can be detrimental to my waistline. The people at work love it when I am stressed because I bake.
3. Reading, Well first I am a literacy teacher so reading falls hand in hand. Most importantly though I learned to read at a very young age as self defense. I was born into a family of readers. To me a good book is like an old friend and I like going back to visit often.
4. Music, Music is a form of self expression. I am a first soprano or was in high school and college. More now I enjoy Gaelic instrumental music. I hear enough voices at work.
5. Tea, For me in the morning it is coffee. I have to get a jump on the day and crave the caffeine, but in the evenings when it is cool outside I love to relax with a "good' pot of tea. There are so many different varieties that I can match my tea to my mood. I love it's versatility.
6. Snow, I love the purity of snow. Each flake is unique though we cannot see it with our bare eye. More when the snow is fresh and white it is like the world has been cleansed.
7. Scandanavia, (did I really list this). The one thing that comes to mind is my Eagle who calls me a shipwrecked Norwegian because I am half Irish. I cannot say I am overly fond of Scandanavian Foods they tend to be bland and some things smell horribly! The best thing I think would be Finlandia
