A couple of weeks ago I actually had the gaul to say life was the same every day.  What was I thinking?  I certainly hope I never grow so complacent as to tempt fate again...

My manager of the last four years is retiring this Friday.  This saddens me greatly as she is a wonderful woman and I hate to see her go, but I am happy for her as well because she will get to move back to her home state and be with her family.  I have been charged with the task of acquiring her retirement gift from my team.  This leads me to be entirely frustrated with humanity.... a team of 19 people only managed to collect 25 dollars for a gift.  Yet, the same team can come up with over 40 when they have the prospect of buying bagels.  Argh! where are people's priorities?

Likewise for said retirement we are having a floor wide potluck.  I have also been tasked with baking the cake.  I really need to learn how to pronounce that two letter word beginning with n and ending in o.  And so it goes.

Then there is the run of the mill chiropractor appointment, monthly meeting, the neighbor being out of town for a week and needing a dog sitter. Not forgetting I leave for the northwest in a week and I haven't even started chapter 13 of RYA.
